Our normal, everyday lives are filled with stressors: from frightening news cycles to being stuck in traffic. Increased levels of stress can decrease fertility, as 2010 and 2011 studies have shown. While we cannot always prevent stressful situations, we can learn how to cope with them in a healthier manner.
Yoga is as effective or more effective than exercise at regulating the sympathetic nervous system. Also, since yoga seeks to foster a state of mind/body/harmony, it can empower practitioners with techniques for coping with stress.
The goals of Yoga for Conception classes are reducing stress by deepening and controlling the breath, stretching and opening the pelvis, lower back, hips, groins, chest and shoulders. It help us slow down and find ways to live more fully and in greater comfort.
The following topics will broadly be covered in this workshop:
1: Reducing stress by deepening and controlling the breath with gentle movement
2: Heart Chakra (Anahata Chakra) flow – Opening the heart + Yoga Mudra: Lotus hands
3: Yoga postures to support the endocrine system and optimize blood flow to the pelvic region
4: Reconnection with your body and reproductive system
5: Restorative Yoga postures to self-nurture and nourish and allow the body and and mind deeply to rest
6: Healthy nurtrition – healthy body – healthy digestive system; Twisting, mobilize and detox of inner organs, improving mobility in the spine
